...is the Musical Director and Concertmaster of the
Seattle Mandolin Orchestra, as well as the Emerald City Mandolin Quartet, and has been playing and
teaching mandolin, mandola, mandocello and guitar in the Seattle area for over 30 years.
He has performed with Richard Walz,
Andre St. Clivier, Orchestra Seattle and the
Bavarian State and
Hessian State Mandolin Orchestras, and taken workshops and masterclasses
with David Grisman, Evan Marshall,
Keith Harris and Gertrud Troester.
Alan has previously taught mandolin classes at
Bellevue Community College
and
Music Center of the Northwest,
and currently teaches privately at
Kaleidoscope School of Music.
